Booking ​
Booking.com is one of the largest travel accommodation websites in the world. It was founded in 1996 by In Geert-Jan Bruinsma. Bruinsma had finished his TCS degree and was participating in the startup incubator BTC.
Thuisbezorgd ​
Thuisbezorgd now renamed to JustEatTakeAway is a food delivery platform. It was founded in the year 2000 by Jitse Groen. The company was started during his BIT bachelor. It started operating in the Netherlands and is now active in North America, EU, Israel, Australia and New Zealand.
Gitlab ​
Gitlab.com is a DevOPS platform. Gitlab makes it easier for teams to ship software. Gitlab supports Issues and Merge Requests, Milestones, Wiki for documentation and even a support desk for clients. Gitlab started as an open source project developed by Dmytro Zaporozhets. Then when joined by cofounder Sytse Sijbrand they applied to Ycombinator with this pitch video:
Then this is "pitch day" video at y-combinator where the startup needs to be presented to the fellow classmates.
Sytse Sijbrand graduated IEM (Industrial Engineering and Management). He did an Interview with the University in 2022. As of this writing Gitlab has a market cap of $8.64 Billion, setting the bar very high for fellow UT students.
Codesandbox ​
codesandbox is an online programming environment to be able to work together in teams from anywhere in the world. Right now it is a series A startup that has raised $15 M from investors. The startup was founded in 2017 by Ives van Hoorne TCS (Technical Computer Science) Student and Bas Buursma IDE (Industrial Design Engineering) student.
Lexius.ai ​
Shoplifting AI detection startup founded in the summer of 2022. Lexius was co-founded by David Elskamp after finishing his Computer Science Master. This startup is now part of the Sky Deck Accelerator
